Korean companies continue to establish entities in Vietnam. Core documents for local incorporation — business registration, board minutes, shareholder register — must be certified before submission to Vietnamese authorities. Here is the A to Z of Vietnam corporate-document certification, handled online.
What is embassy legalization?
Embassy legalization is the final step confirming a document's official effect so a document issued in one country can be officially used in another. As Vietnam is treated as a non-member before the apostille takes effect, Korean corporate documents go through the traditional route — Ministry of Foreign Affairs consular confirmation plus Vietnamese Embassy legalization — to be freely used.
Vietnam's apostille takes effect on 11 September 2026 (instrument deposited 31 December 2025). Documents prepared on or after that date may use the apostille; until then, consular and embassy legalization applies.
